5 Ways to Be a Great Student
1. Make Friendships:
You’re here to learn at Greysmith, but don’t forget to get to know your classmates. Not only will you be in the same classroom with them for one year, you’ll also be learning and experiencing the same challenges. Stuck on a task? Ask for help from your peers. And if you can help a classmate out, lend a hand. Building friendship is important for your time spent at Greysmith and also when you graduate and pursue your career. The conversational skills that you develop at Greysmith will help you solve challenges and produce the best work you can make down the road!
2. Learn Networking:
Almost everyone is afraid to break the ice and begin a conversation with a stranger. The thing is, you never know who that person is, where they might be working, or what they know. Always bear in mind, your ability to create large followers; audiences and spectators will be your opportunity for success. Endear yourself into the hearts of people who encounter you on daily basis. Greysmith is located in Accra, one of the most welcoming cities in Africa for many creative media opportunities. Plus, there are many companies in various industries here in Accra. If you can talk to a person that’s connected to the industry you are studying, a door of opportunity could open for you!
3. Extended Classroom Time:
You’re assigned your own permanent classroom at Greysmith. That means throughout your duration of school you will be in the same room, with your own creative workspace. Once you are assigned a passkey you can come and go to your classroom. If you want extra time to gain more experience, you’re welcome to come in early, stay late or even come in on the weekend! Take advantage of this when you feel the need to brush up on your developing skills. Partner with a buddy and it’s easier to get through it. And if you feel like taking a break, step outside and explore downtown Accra! You’re a short drive away from the famous Aburi Botanical Gardens, the Accra Mall, as well as many quick bite food shops close-by.
4. Special Events:
